Rodian Black Bean and Avocado Salad

H'chu Apenkee fellow travelers!

I recently had an amazing hunger for avocados and lime, and found myself looking for the small green aliens called the Rodian. You see they LOVE anything green and specialize in the food you human aliens call "Tex-mex". I traveled far and searched wide for the buggy humaniods, (or to my local scum and villainy cantina) and quickly learned their ways of the green and fresh deliciousness.

Thusly, the Rodian Black Bean and Avocado Salad was born:

  • 1/2 cup fresh greens (spinach and the like)
  • 1/4 cup of cooked black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 of an Avocado, diced
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/4 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 3-5 black olives, sliced
For the Dressing:
  • 1/2 a lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • dash of ground cummin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Add salad ingredients to eating plate.
  2. Mix Dressing in small bowl, add to salad mix in eating plate. Toss to coat.
  3. Devourer and enjoy!
Did you know that if you save the ends of your green onions, and place them in a glass with water in an indirect sunny spot in your kitchen, they will GROW?!? You just gotta change out the water once a week, then just snip off the green parts and wait for them to grow again! My human pet is trying out this theory, I guess well see how it goes.

Till then, Stay Hydrated my friends.

First Adventure: Cherry Cardamom Smoothie.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRARAARARRRRR!!!

That's "Hi, waddup peeps!" in banthurian. Just so you all know. Anywho, welcome to my first ever adventure in KITCHENLAND!!! (dundunduuuuun- evil music) I, Dune the Bantha, slaved all day in this hot land to bring you:

The Corillian Cherry Cardamom Smoothie!

A perfect brew for a warm winter day... what? I live in a DESERT! It's always warm here. Just sayin.

Serves 1 very hungry person or 2 snack hungy people.

  • 1 cup Blue Milk (or Almond Vanilla milk, they taste similar)
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Cherries
  • 1/2 a Banana (or 1/4 cup frozen banana)
  • 1/4 heaping tsp Cardamom
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You can add more ice or some water to either thicken or smooth out if desired. Pour into Corillian cups, garnish with cherry and a banana, and enjoy!

Ah those Corillian's sure know how to make a fine brew. You know, a wise Corillian once told me that the cardamom spice is good for digesting, so they always load this stuff into all their breakfast food, pancakes, bread, hot cocoa even! I find that it is a very warming spice, that really brings forward the banana flavor and mellows out the rich cherry flavor in the smoothie. It's quite the tasty breakfast treat so go make this now... what are you waiting for? Nunas to fly out of my pants? Cause I'm not wearing any pants, so that could take a while...
